I've never met Jennifer Perillo, the food blogger whose 51 year old husband died suddenly.
One minute she was Tweeting about canning marinara sauce and the next she said, "He's gone... my heart is shattered in a million pieces."
On her blog, In Jennie's Kitchen, she wrote:
"For those asking what they can do to help my healing process, make a peanut butter pie this Friday and share it with someone you love. Then hug them like there's no tomorrow because today is the only guarantee we can count on."
I made my peanut butter pie on Sunday.
I felt that by making Mikey's favorite pie I was giving my love and support to Jennie.
My heart goes out to her, even though we've never met.
The recipe for Mikey's favorite Creamy Peanut Butter Pie can be found on Jennie's blog.
My pie came out a little soft, so I ended up putting it in the freezer and I liked the result.
The soft, creamy part of the pie was frozen like ice cream.
